THE murder of Bonhill teenager Caroline Glachan is to be re-examined in a television show looking at unsolved murders.
This Sunday's Donal McIntyre: Unsolved programme which goes out on CBS Reality on Sky, Virgin and Freesat will look again at the death of the 14-year-old on the banks of the River Leven which took place 20 years ago this year.
The severely battered body of the teenager was discovered on the morning of August 24, 1996 in the river, she had been killed in a frenzied attack and had horrific head injuries. She was dumped in the River Leven while still alive in what police at the time described as a "brutal" attack.
Caroline had been on her way to meet a new boyfriend when she was murdered.
Many in the community, including Caroline's mother Margaret who still lives in Bonhill, believe her killer is still living in the local community.
Mystery surrounds who the "boyfriend" was that Caroline was on her way to meet, he has never come forward, if he was innocent then why not?
No motive for her brutal murder has ever been established.
Tune in to CBS Reality on Sky channel 146, Virgin 148 or Freesat 135 at 10pm on Sunday night to see if McIntyre can shed new light on her death.
