Police in Forth Valley have confirmed that missing Dorset man, Andrew Edwards has been traced to the Tyndrum area.
This morning, Police Scotland appealed for help from the public to trace the missing Dorset man who was last seen in Scotland.
The 53-year-old, of Blandford, last contacted a friend and a family member on the evening of Monday, March 28 when he texted to say he was in a mountainous area.
Andrew was last seen by a member of staff at a hotel in Fort William in Scotland at 10.15am on Monday, March 28.
Chief Inspector Ian Roe, of Dorset Police, said: “We believe Andrew has been very upset recently and we are becoming increasingly concerned for him.
“Our investigations have revealed that it is likely that Andrew travelled to Scotland from Dorset on coach or train and that he could be in the area of Crianlarich or Tyndrum in North Stirlingshire.
“I know this area is popular with walkers and I would urge anyone who has seen Andrew or a man matching his description to please call Dorset Police on 101.
"We will then pass the information onto Police Scotland.
“If anyone has heard from Andrew please get in touch.
"He may have access to a black Peugeot motor car with the registration number W726 WKE. “Finally, if Andrew sees this appeal I would urge him to please contact us – your family are very worried about you.”
Just after noon, on Thursday, police thanked the public for their help in locating Andrew.
