Motorists on the A82 heading into Dumbarton on Sunday afternoon were surprised by the sight of a car on fire.
The on-fire vehicle, which was located near the Bowling Roundabout, was quickly attended to by firefighters, with the fire not being treated as wilful by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).
A SFRS spokeswoman said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 3.31pm on Sunday, July 23 to reports of a car on fire on the A82 at Dumbarton.
"A fire engine was mobilised to the scene and the crew used a powerful water hose to knock down the flames.
"Firefighters ensured the area was made safe before leaving the scene."
