ESSENTIAL maintenance work will take place on the Erskine Bridge over four weekends from January 31 to February 24.
Bearing replacement work undertaken on the bridge will significantly affect traffic, with daytime slow lane closures and total closures overnight, as well as both traffic directions being affected.
From 8pm to midnight, each Friday, a single lane will be open in both directions, with the bridge closed to all traffic except emergency service vehicles from midnight to 4am each Friday and Saturday. A single lane will be open in both directions each Saturday to Monday between 4am to 6am.
Works involved include trial jack and investigations, westbound bearing replacement, eastbound bearing replacement and a contingency weekend.
