Scotland is in lockdown. Shops are closing and newspaper sales are falling fast. We're not exaggerating when we say that the future of the Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter is under threat.
Please consider supporting the Reporter in whatever way you can – by paying just 85p for a copy of the paper, when you're shopping for essential supplies for yourself and others, or by subscribing to our e-edition here.
Thanks – and stay safe.

A CHARITY’S army of volunteers who offer support to vulnerable people in Dumbarton and the Vale amid the coronavirus crisis have been praised by a local MSP.
Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland has more than 4,000 volunteers, who are trained and offer help to people in the west of Scotland who are self-isolating and vulnerable to the virus.
The charity can match locals with a volunteer, who can offer support and make sure clients stay safe and well in their homes by taking part in regular phone calls and practical help, such as shopping, collecting medication, or even dog-walking.
Maurice Golden, MSP for the west of Scotland, has praised the charity’s efforts.
He said: “This will provide absolutely invaluable support to those who need it most and something simple like a phone call will go a long way to improving people’s mental health.
“Practical support through getting vital supplies like food and medicine will ensure people know that charities like CHSS are on hand to support them.”
“I congratulate everyone involved in volunteering and know this is welcomed by residents and communities across the west of Scotland.”#
