A PARENT and child support group in Cardross has been given a financial boost by a local supermarket chain.
The Morrisons Foundation has awarded the Cardross Mother and Toddlers group a £500 grant to add to their supply of toys.
Supporting parents and carers in the village and surrounding areas, the group’s members meet on Wednesdays from 10am to 11.30am at Cardross Parish Church, and although they are currently unable to meet face-to-face due to the pandemic, they are hoping to be back soon when restrictions ease.
Treasurer Emily Moriarty said: “The group provides a vital support network and socialisation for children and their parents.
“The money will be put towards extra toys so more families can attend the group and give the children an opportunity to play with different toys that they may not have access to at home.
“Additionally, it will go a long way to purchasing craft materials for activities.
“The group is equally important for the parents’ mental health.”
