FIRE bugs caused thousands of pounds worth of damage when they torched park refuse bins.
Six bins were set alight in Levengrove Park in Dumbarton sometime between 6pm on May 28 and 11am on May 29.
Police said the total value of the damage was £2,700.
Officers are following a positive line of enquiry but appealed for any witnesses to contact them on 101.
Dumbarton MSP Jackie Baillie said: “Levengrove Park is one of the most beautiful areas in Dumbarton and enjoyed by the whole community.
“For vandals to destroy the bins in the park is mindless behaviour.
"If anyone has any information please do come forward and tell the police so we can put a stop to people destroying our local area.”
