A GANG of youths is being hunted for setting fire to a generator and vandalising a commercial yard near a church.
The yard under the Erskine Bridge in Old Kilpatrick was targeted around 9.15pm on Monday, July 12.
Police said the secure commercial yard between Lusset Glen and next to St Patrick's Church was broken into, a mobile generator was removed and set alight, along with scaffolding platforms and fencing.
They said seven male youths and two girls were seen in the area and officers wanted to speak to them.
The teenagers are described as aged between 15 and 17 years old, mostly wearing dark clothing, including hoodies, tracksuits and shorts.
One of the girls was wearing a shiny puffa-style jacket with a black hood.
Detective Constable Mark Gillies said: “This was a reckless act that caused a considerable amount of damage. It is lucky that no one was injured.
“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and the youths who were seen in the area as we believe they can help with our enquiries.
“If you can help please contact us via 101, quoting incident 3507 of Monday, July 12, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
In 2015, St Patrick's Church suffered major damage after bins were set alight.
