MOTORISTS are being warned ahead of the start of roadworks on the A82 next week.
Signage and new road markings will be installed between the Erskine Bridge junction and the Dunglass roundabout to encourage drivers to maintain the travelling gap between vehicles and discourage close following.
The work will take place between 8pm and 6am from Monday July 26 to Friday August 7.
There will be dual carriageway lane closures as a result of the work.
The work will be undertaken by Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, as part of the company's network management contract for the south-west of Scotland.
Amey says the the work will benefit around 48,000 vehicles using this route each day by improving road safety, and thanked road users in advance for their patience.
Road workers will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s Covid-19 guidance.
