A VALE amateur football club was helped to victory in a cup tie this week - by a stray dog.
Vale of Leven Amateurs took on Ferguslie Star AFC on Wednesday, August 25 at Alexandria's Argyll Park in a sectional tie in the Greater Glasgow Premier AFL's FN Teamwear President's League Cup.
The Vale side saw the match out by three goals to two against the Paisley based team, but not without the help of a four legged friend.

With Ferguslie Star 2-1 up, one of their attackers slid a shot past the Vale keeper for what looked like his team's third goal - only for a nearby dog to briefly enter the field of play and clear the shot off the line.
The certain goal was disallowed by the referee as the International Football Association Board Law 9.1 states that if a ball touches an "outside agent" then the referee must halt the game for a drop ball.
Vale of Leven went on to win the match.
The clip has since gone viral on social media, with almost 18,000 views of the hilarious incident.
