TALENTED artists from Dumbarton, the Vale and beyond flocked to Geilston Garden in Cardross last week for the latest in the venue’s successful series of art workshops.
Tutor Julia Gourd asked the artists taking part to sketch, and then paint, a soft-edged landscape, with a more detailed focus point to lead the viewer into their painting, making the most of a mist-shrouded early autumn morning – but as the sun broke through in the afternoon, the splashes of colour from the dahlias, cosmos and rudbeckias in the kitchen garden gave the participants a chance to explore a wider palette.
The session was organised by the Friends of Geilston, who are planning to hold similar events in 2022 – keep an eye on friendsofgeilston.org for more details of future events in the garden.
