The New Year Dook set to take place next week at Loch Lomond Shores has been postponed.
Loch Lomond Shores, in association with Protay and Inchbaggers, were planning to host the New Year Dook to raise cash for the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat.
Organisers decided to make the decision to postpone the much-anticipated event until later in 2022 due to changes in Scottish Government guidelines on both indoor and outdoor events.
Audrey Calder, from Loch Lomond Shores, said: “We are so disappointed to have to postpone the event but Loch Lomond Shores and our event partners, ProTay and Inchbaggers, feel that it is the right thing to do in the current circumstances.
“Having spent months organising, it will definitely go ahead with the announcement of a new date set for the week of the January 10.
“All those booked to take part will be contacted today and we’ll keep in touch to confirm when it will go ahead in 2022. Our aim is to have it in the spring if possible and host a safe, fun and successful event that everyone can enjoy.
“We offer our sincere apologies to all our participants but hope they’ll understand that this is the right decision given the circumstances.”
