HUNDREDS of commuters are having to make alternative travel arrangements this morning after a vital rail line through Dumbarton and the Vale was closed.
Network Rail has shut the line between Dalreoch and Balloch to allow engineers to carry out "urgent repairs to the track at Balloch" after reports were received of a collapsed culvert in the area.
ScotRail says disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Trains between Balloch and Airdrie are not running between Balloch and Dumbarton Central. No trains are calling at Balloch, Alexandria or Renton.
NEW: The line between Balloch and Dalreoch is closed. Urgent repairs to the track are required and we expect this to take all day today.
