A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with 16 alleged shoplifting offences in Alexandria and Balloch.
Following a number of reported shoplifting offences from retail premises in the area, officers arrested a 28-year-old man.
Police say the man has been charged in connection with allegedly stealing goods valued at over £1,300.
He has since been remanded in custody.
PC Andrew Bennie, from Police Scotland's West Dunbartonshire community engagement team, said: "Acquisitive crime is a local priority for us as local businesses are an important part of our community.
"Within West Dunbartonshire we have dedicated town centre officers who are there to keep people safe when frequenting our town centres."
Cops are urging residents to come forward if they know anyone who is carrying out thefts in their community.
