A FORMER Alexandria man threatened to report cops to Dumbarton police station after they attending his home to speak with him.

David Roberts, formerly of Ottawa Crescent, pleaded guilty with another at an earlier hearing to being in possession of Etizolam at a flat in Alexandria almost two years ago.

On October 16, 2020, police attended the common close of a property in Halkett Crescent in Alexandria looking to speak to Roberts when the 25-year-old came out and began shouting and swearing.

He shouted at the cops, “You’re not f*****g getting in”, “get to f***”, and “I’m phoning Dumbarton police station to report you”, said the fiscal depute at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week.

Police were later allowed inside the property to carry out a search and entered a bedroom where they noticed a large duffel bag and plastic tub both containing bags of white pills.

The white pills were noted to be Etizolam and the fiscal depute told the hearing that the value was estimated at around £400.

Roberts’ defence solicitor said: “His last conviction was in 2020. He is now in full-time employment and he is doing well out of that. He is making enough positive aspects to his life.”

Sheriff John Hamilton said: “That is a particularly stupid and unpleasant one [referring to the complaint] in terms on circumstances.”

He placed Roberts, now of George Street, Aberdeen, on a community payback order for 12 months of social work supervision and 140 hours of unpaid work.
