THE operators of a whisky bottling plant in Dumbarton have announced they will be recruiting more than 130 permanent employees at the Kilmalid site.

Chivas Brothers made the announcement today (Wednesday), stating that it will be recruiting 136 new operators to help meet global demands for Scotch.

Liam Donegan, manufacturing director at Chivas Brothers, said: “Dumbarton is at the heart of our Chivas Brothers operations and I’m delighted to announce this significant investment in our site and our people.

"These permanent roles will really bolster our manufacturing capabilities and ensure that Kilmalid remains a world-class bottling facility to support the future of Scotch.”

The investment in the future of Dumbarton follows an £88 million expansion plan into Aberlour and Miltonduff, two of Chivas Brothers’ strategic single malt distilleries, which will go into upgrading sustainable distillation technologies at the Speyside distilleries along with significant production capacity expansions to support the future of Scotch.
