A DRIVER has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after being stopped by Dumbarton police - more than 50 miles from the cops' base.
Officers from Police Scotland's road policing unit in the town stopped the motorist near the Loch Awe Hotel at Dalmally on Wednesday afternoon.
The Dumbarton cops were returning to their home base after joining their road policing colleagues in Oban for a speed check operation in Taynuilt.
Cops said that a drug wipe test was then carried out at the roadside and that the driver reportedly tested positive for cannabis.
The driver was arrested.
On their way back to Dumbarton following the earlier road check, #DumbartonRP stopped this car near Loch Awe Hotel. The driver clearly appreciated a different type of greenery! Arrested after failing the roadside drugwipe.#LookAtTheGreeneryDontSmokeIt #Fatal5 pic.twitter.com/6dTVTMBOYM
