Loch Lomond has featured in a new TV travel series featuring actor, Martin Compston.
Martin Compston’s Scottish Fling will see the Line of Duty star embark on a road trip around the country with his friend and co-host, Phil MacHugh, as the pair seek to experience what makes modern Scotland tick.
The programme is airing on the BBC Scotland channel and across the UK on BBC Two.
During the six-part series, the boys will take their campervan, Celine, and head to the banks of Loch Lomond to meet Instagram rambler the Hillwalking Hijabi, Zahrah Mahmood, taking in the views from the top of Conic Hill before grabbing the ultimate selfie.
Looking ahead to the series, Martin said: “Having spent the last few years travelling for work this is me getting reacquainted with my homeland and joining me is my longtime pal, the mighty Phil MacHugh.
“I’ve felt like I’m falling in love with Scotland all over again. It’s the place but it’s the people – that’s what makes it so special.”
Elsewhere, Martin and Phil visit Loch Fyne as they drop in on the green Michelin restaurant Inver to get a taste of the local produce – though Martin isn’t easily convinced by the seafood menu.
The pair also journey north to a dramatic evening pit stop at Glencoe before Martin and Phil take a final leap into the unknown with an outdoor awakening as they go cliff jumping on the Knoydart peninsular with outdoor enthusiasts Zeemon and Lucy.
For Martin, the programme is one of the first times he has appeared on factual television, appearing as himself.
For Phil, it is more familiar territory, having been a regular face on Channel 5 News, NBC’s ‘The Today Show’ and CNN News.
Martin Compston’s Scottish Fling has started on BBC Two on Friday, September 9 at 9.30pm.
