Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV) in Dumbarton have been hard at work delivering leaflets about the dangers of bogus callers and doorstep crimes.

Members of PSYV are helping to get ahead of the curve for the winter months by delivering the leaflets to vulnerable members of the community in Dumbarton and the Vale.

Police Scotland historically find an increase or reported incidents of bogus callers, rogue traders and online scams around this time.

In the leaflet there are 10 steps to keeping yourself and your neighbours safe against these crimes which include inspecting identification badges, researching the company they claim to represent and never letting them in your home if you are unsure.
