A SCOTLAND-WIDE celebration of storytelling is coming to Dumbarton for the very first time next month.
Professional storyteller Anne Pitcher and traveller tradition-bearer Jimmy Williamson will retell the stories of Jimmy’s father Duncan at an event at the Phoenix Centre, part of the Rock Community Church in Castlehill, on Saturday, October 8 from 7-9pm as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.
Jimmy will also provide a flavour of music at the event at the Quarry Knowe venue, which is free but ticketed.
Tickets can be booked by calling the Phoenix on 01389 600245 or by emailing annepitcherstoryteller@hotmail.co.uk.
It’s the first of two events in this year’s festival being hosted by the Phoenix – the second is the premiere of Keep It Lit, a collaboration between the Phoenix, Clifftop Projects’ artistic director Lottie Barker and West Dunbartonshire film-maker Joseph Dalton.
That event takes place on Saturday, November 12 and is also free but ticketed - email lottie@clifftopprojects.co.uk or call Anne Pitcher on 0770 805 9770 to book or find out more.
