Children in Dumbarton received a dramatic re-enactment by a historical group who gave their first performance since lockdown.
Youngsters at St Patrick’s Parish Church enjoyed a dramatic lesson in Scottish history with a visit from the historical group The Society of Scottish Knights.
It was the group’s first performance since early 2020 before the Covid pandemic and they say it proved to be a big hit with the audience.
Dee Martin, from Cardross, the group's founder, said: “We talked about history, who we are, what we do and discussed the Christian spirit of charity.
“I’ve been involved in historical recreation activities since 2016. My interest has always been focused on historical research.
"This passion led me to think about education and contribution to society in an attractive way for the public in general and in particular for children to learn about Scottish history.
"It’s fantastic to see the reactions when we bring Scottish history to life in front of their faces.
“Our activity is based on three pillars; historical research, historical recreation and teaching.
""We have toured all over Scotland with this group and even travelled to Spain for the celebration of Douglas Day.
“The last visit we made before lockdown in 2020 was to St Patrick’s Primary School in Dumbarton."
