AN animal charity's rescue centre in Dumbarton has issued an urgent plea to the public to help feed the cats and ferrets in its care.

The Scottish SPCA says its local centre, on the A82 at Milton, is running low on wet and dry food to feed the 38 cats in its care. It also requires food to support 18 ferrets there.

Centre manager, Judy Button, said: “We are currently caring for a high number of cats and ferrets at the centre and have a lot of hungry mouths to feed.

“Some of our animals need to be kept on a consistent diet while they’re with us, which is why we are specifically asking for Whiskas and Felix for our cats.

“This food helps keep cats like Jellybean and ferrets like Bert happy and healthy while they wait to find their forever homes.

“We’d be so grateful for any donations that people can spare and we know the animals in our care will be too.”

Food can be donated via the centre’s Amazon wish list here: https://amzn.to/2YMc8NK or sent from another online retailer that can deliver.

Items can also be handed into the centre reception at Scottish SPCA, Dumbarton Road, Milton G82 2UA.
