Council buildings across West Dunbartonshire will be lit up next year to mark various important days and raise awareness of good causes.
Currently, public structures and buildings such as the Titan Crane and the council offices on Chruch Street in Dumbarton are regularly lit up to symbolise important events.
In the past, green lights have been used to mark World Cerebral Palsy Day and purple to recognise Mental Health Awareness Day.
Now, following a full council meeting on Wednesday, October 26, it was unanimously agreed that the local authority would create a comprehensive list of 'awareness days' for the calendar year starting in January 2023.
Raising the motion, Councillor Clare Steel said: "As a parent to a child with cerebral palsy, I know what small recognisable acts like this can have an impact."
In November, to mark Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, the authority will light up the council offices red to commemorate the sacrifices of past generations.
