The OVO Hydro was well and truly rocking last night as one of Scotland’s best-loved bands – Biffy Clyro – took centre stage.
A capacity crowd gathered at the Glasgow venue to watch the three-piece outfit perform.
And, as they produced a high-energy show featuring a mixture of established hits and new songs, the East Ayrshire band didn't disappoint.
This was the second gig on their UK tour, with lead singer Simon Neil quickly setting the tone for the night as he engaged with the audience, backed up by some ferocious drumming from Ben Johnston and a sprinkling of electric solos by guitarist James Johnston.
The show started with a bang as the heavy guitar riffs and raucous drums rumbled through the iconic venue.
Fans' favourites such as 2008 track Mountains got the reception they deserved before the night took a more mellow turn as Simon stood alone under a spotlight with his guitar and thousands singing along with him.
The band's wide appeal could be seen in the audience, where teenagers were side by side with rock fans of a distinctly older vintage.
Simon responded by taking time out to chat with them between hits.
Adding to the spectacle was an impressive light show which matched the mood of each song.
The trio refused to let the energy drop and it was clear from their faces that they were enjoying the show just as much as those who were watching.
A rousing encore was rounded off in classic style with Many of Horror – and the buzz in the air clung to each reveller as they began to shuffle out of the auditorium and make their way home.
Biffy Clyro truly made the most of their return to Glasgow and put on one heck of a show.
Tonight, it is Dublin's turn for a treat as the band continue to prove they are one of the top acts on the current music scene.
