AN ADVENTURE through stories and books awaits youngsters in P4-P7, as a celebrated author prepares to visit Balloch.
Victoria Williamson will lead the author talk on Friday, November 18, in Balloch Library on Carrochan Road.
Having grown up surrounded by hills and books, Victoria was inspired to write stories at an early age. She has travelled the world and now writes stories inspired by the many children she has met over the years.
Victoria’s first two books The Fox Girl and The White Gazelle, and The Boy with the Butterfly Mind were based on her experiences of children with diverse backgrounds.
Her third book, Hag Storm, is a spooky historical fiction novel based on the life of young Rabbie Burns and the witches from Tam O’Shanter.
The evening forms part of Book Week Scotland, which runs from November 14-20.
Now in its eleventh year, the event is an annual celebration of books and reading that takes place across the country in November.
The author talk with Victoria Williamson runs from 3.45-4.45pm on Friday, November 18.
Book tickets at the Scottish Book Trust website.
