A man's body has been recovered from the River Leven, police have confirmed.
The Reporter previously reported that police, two coastguard teams, and a helicopter were called to the River Leven near Burns Street in Renton following reports of a man in the water at around 8pm on Saturday.
In an update, police confirmed the body of a man was discovered on Tuesday after searches of the water were carried out by officers from Police Scotland's Marine and Dive Unit.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but the man's family have been notified.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 8pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022, police received a report of a man in the River Leven near Burns Street, Renton.
"Following searches carried out today, officers from Police Scotland Marine and Dive Unit have recovered a man's body.
"A formal identification has still to be carried out and the man's family has been notified.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
