A PENSIONER has died in a house blaze in Bellsmyre.
The 82-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene at a property in Carman View.
It is understood there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
Previously the Reporter told how the fire took hold at the property at around 3.30pm on Sunday (January 29).
Firefighters tackled the blaze, during which saw the property lost its roof.
Area Commander Joe McKay, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service's local senior officer for West Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute, said: “We were alerted at 3.01pm on Sunday, January 29 to reports of a dwelling fire on Carman View, Dumbarton.
“Operations Control mobilised five fire appliances and one height vehicle, where crews extinguished a fire affecting the first floor of the property.
“Firefighters located and removed one woman from inside the property who was treated by our crews and the Scottish Ambulance Service, however sadly she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with her family and the wider community at this time and a joint fire investigation alongside our Police Scotland colleagues is now under way."
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a house fire in Carman View, Dumbarton, around 3.10pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
“Emergency services attended, however an 82-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
"Officers are carrying out a joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
