THE curtain is to rise in Alexandria on a show about Robert Burns, dubbed “a comedic, jam-packed history of Scotland’s Bard”.
Written and created by Hopscotch Theatre’s late co-founder and former artistic director, Ross Stenhouse, Burns Last Supper takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the poet’s last day on Earth.
Burns journeys through his life, music and poetry, confronted by familiar faces and his most famous works.
From A man’s a man for a’ that to Auld Lang Syne, the show follows Burns at his last supper as he meets a whole host of characters from his one true love, Jean Armour “tae the de’il itself”.
The production will take place in the newly developed performance space in the Vale of Leven Heritage Hub, in Alexandria Library, on Saturday, February 11 at 10.30am and will last for about 45 minutes.
Presented by Hopscotch Theatre, the show features live music and audience participation is encouraged throughout. Photography or videography is not permitted.
