OFFICERS in Dumbarton were hit with fireworks for the second time this month as hundreds of people gathered outside a house in Bonhill.
At around 7.50pm on Thursday, March 16, police were called to a report that a group of people had gathered outside a house in Braehead, Bonhill.
Officers said those at the gathering, some of whom were wearing face masks, refused to disperse when requested.
The occupants of the house were removed once police arrived at the scene.
However, during the incident a number of objects, including fireworks were thrown at officers.
Nobody was injured, with police saying they are now trying to trace those involved.
This incident comes after a crowd targeted a property in Brucehill, Dumbarton, in what police described as a "large scale disturbance" on February 28.
Up to 300 people gathered in Graham Road, with videos posted online showing fireworks being set off close to homes in the residential street.
Officers believed the group gathered at the location due to "inaccurate information circulating online".
During that incident the crowd threw objects, including bricks, resulting in two people injured.
Regarding the latest matter, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "An investigation is under way after a number of objects, including fireworks, were thrown at officers in Braehead, Bonhill on Thursday, March 16.
"Police were called around 7.50pm, to reports a group of people had gathered outside a house in Braehead, Bonhill.
"Officers attended and the occupants of the house were removed from the property.
"The crowd, some of whom, had their faces covered, refused to disperse and a vehicle was vandalised. Public order officers were deployed as some members of the group began to throw items, including fireworks, towards police officers.
"No officers have been injured and the incident was brought under control. Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved. "
