A PENSIONER is calling on the public's help to find the two cousins he lost contact with.
Angus Robin, who lives in Adelaide, South Australia, is looking to reconnect with his two cousins who he believes are in Dumbarton and the Vale.
The 83-year-old hopes the public will help him find Betty Elder and Joyce Macgregor (both nee Perry) who were originally born in Glasgow.
His search started after his 91-year-old brother Archie recently died in Glasgow and lost contact with his family towards the end of last year.
He told the Reporter: "My brother Archie died recently in the New Victoria Hospital, Glasgow. He was a recluse and did not mix well with people. Archie had lost touch with everybody he knew, including us in Australia.
"He went off the chart sometime at the end of December 2022.
"The last time I saw Archie was in 2011 when he was eighty. My wife Jan and I went back to Scotland to help him celebrate his birthday, however, he was not too interested.
"Nevertheless, we managed to convince him to come with us and see his cousins Betty and Joyce, who lived near Dumbarton. However, I do not know the address we went to."
Now Angus is keen to find the pair who would be in their late 80s or early 90s. Both of the women married a man called Bill and each had two children.
He added: "Betty and Joyce were brought up in Plantation and Penilee in Glasgow. I was brought up in Govan and Corkerhill. My brother was nine years older than me and we had a sister, June, who was nine years younger than me and she, unfortunately, died in her 40s of cancer.
"My wife Jan and I left Scotland in 1966, the year after we were married. We built a house in Athelstone in Adelaide in 1968 and have lived there ever since. We travelled back to Scotland on many occasions, however, Australia has been our home for many years, with three girls and four grandchildren.
"Nevertheless, we would like to contact Betty and Joyce if they are still around."
