Join us as we take a trip down memory lane to reminisce about what was happening in Dumbarton and the Vale a decade ago.
We delved into the Dumbarton Reporter archives to pick out some of the stories from over a decade ago.
Here are some photographs from our edition which was published on Tuesday, June 25.
Do you remember these stories or spot any familiar faces?
1. Fun was on the timetable at Jamestown Primary as pupils prepared to say goodbye to the school for another year. Children from all classes joined in with the crazy capers as the school turned into a fun house with a bouncy castle and all sorts of games going on inside.
2. Pupils from St Martin’s and Renton Primary, and Riverside nursery joined forces to get drivers to slow down and take note of their speed in a bid to raise awareness of the importance of road safety.
3. Giant eagle nests and aerial tunnels were some of the new features kids could explore at a new play park in Balloch.
4. Pupils at Braehead Primary used up all their energy at the school’s annual sports and fun day. All the year groups had the chance to try their hand at seven fun sports and activities from rugby to dance throughout the day.
5. Luss policeman Rodrick Macleod spent more than 30 years supporting his local highland games and was honoured with a new trophy bearing his name.
6. Colleagues at a Vale supermarket raised more than £400 for charity after they climbed up Ben Lomond.
