A YOUNG driver has been caught driving with no MOT and on tyres 'devoid of tread' on a road near Dumbarton.
The 24-year-old male was driving his BMW on the A82 on Monday when road police pulled him over for having no MOT.
#DumbartonRP stopped this BMW yesterday on the A82 near Dumbarton as it had no MOT. Maybe if it had its MOT, the tyre wouldn't be devoid of tread. A 24-Year-old male driver was issued fixed penalties for both offences. Check when your MOT is due at https://t.co/q6EUPfSv5o pic.twitter.com/4pW4ymC9UW

It was then that a quick check of the car identified the threadbare wheels and a Fixed Penalty Notice was issued for both offences.
A post by road officers read: "Maybe if it had its MOT, the tyre wouldn't be devoid of tread."
A Fixed Penalty Notice carries with it a fine and in most cases, penalty points.
