We are at the end of days for another school year with Dumbarton and the Vale kids looking forward to getting free from the rigours of school life on Tuesday, June 27.
This year, youngsters are getting a seven-week stretch for their summer break from education with the new term not starting until Wednesday, August 16.
For many parents, the art of keeping their children occupied for more than a month and a half can prove a struggle with some looking to local community groups and summer camps as outlets for help.
West Dunbartonshire Council will continue their Holiday Hunger Fund ‘SHINE’ - which stands for “School Holidays Involve Nurture & Engage” and has been running since 2019.
The local authority will work with local organisations as part of a £100,000 a-year investment over the next four years to give families access to a wide range of entertaining and engaging activities with many offering a free snack and lunch over July and August.
Activities suitable for five to 16-year-olds will be held in various locations across Dumbarton and the Vale and here, the Reporter has listed what's on offer to ensure your kids have a smashing summer hols.
