PUPILS across West Dunbartonshire are set to receive their exam results next week.
Results for nationals, highers, advanced highers and more will be posted/emailed to students on the morning of Tuesday, August 8.
All pupils will have their results certificate delivered to their homes by first class post. Meanwhile, those who have signed up for and activated their MySQA account will also receive their results by text/email.
Ahead of the day, the SQA has issued a reminder of what support will be available to young people.
What happens if I do not receive my certificate?
- If students do not get their certificate in the post, they should contact their school, college or training provider, who can provide results and work with the SQA to find out what happened to the certificate.
What time will the SQA helpline open at?
- On results day, the helpline – 0345 279 1000 - will be open from 8am to 6pm.
- It will remain open from Wednesday, August 9, to Friday, August 11, between 8.30am and 5pm.
- Young people can also call Skills Development Scotland – 0808 100 8000 – between 8am and 8pm on August 8 and 9 to speak to dedicated careers advisors about the options that are available to them.
- This line will remain open between 9am and 5pm on Thursday, August 10, and Friday, August 11.
Can I appeal?
- If learners have a concern about a grade for a national 5, higher or advanced higher course, they can appeal for free.
- This can be done either via their school or college or by using the SQA’s learner direct service.
- The SQA notes that, while the final decision is the candidate's, they would encourage anyone considering an appeal to discuss their decision with their teacher, lecturer or other member of staff first.
-
Who can submit a priority appeal?
- Priority appeals are available for learners who have a conditional offer for a college or university place or for a training or employment offer.
- These appeals must be submitted to the SQA by Tuesday, August 15.
All other appeals must be submitted by Tuesday, August 29.
Alastair McKenzie, liaison manager for West Dunbartonshire at SQA, said: “I want to thank candidates across West Dunbartonshire for their hard work and dedication in preparing for and sitting their exams and assessments.
“Learners can have confidence in their grades and be proud of what they have accomplished.
“I also want to thank all the teaching and support staff who have gone to exceptional lengths to support learners and help them achieve their results.
“It is thanks to them that candidates are able to reach their full potential. I encourage anyone who has any queries or needs advice come Results Day to call the helplines, where dedicated members of staff will be happy to help and guide you.
“Remember, whether your achievements are what you expect or not, there are many different routes available to shape your future success.”
