Storm Isha has been blamed for the power supply issues that forced Gartocharn Primary School to close today.
West Dunbartonshire Council confirmed the village primary and the Early Learning Childcare Centre were shut on Monday due to a localised power cut.
Overnight, Storm Isha battered the area, with winds up to 90mph recorded across Scotland.
Travel disruption meant there were no trains across the country until lunchtime on Monday as the storm caused havoc.
A West Dunbartonshire Council spokesperson said: “Gartocharn Primary and Early Learning Childcare Centre has closed today due to a localised power supply issue however all other schools remain open.
“Any urgent issues will be conveyed to residents via our social media pages.”
On Sunday evening, a fallen tree blocked the southbound carriageway of the A82 at Renton, causing road chaos for motorists.
It is understood the local authority hopes the primary and early learning centre will reopen tomorrow.
