TRAINS to and from Dumbarton and the Vale are starting to resume after Storm Jocelyn wreaked havoc across Scotland last night.
ScotRail confirmed several routes across the country have now been cleared following safety checks.
It comes after the rail operator suspended all services from 7pm on Tuesday due to high winds.
Tuesday’s travel chaos follows major disruption on the rail network on Sunday and Monday as Storm Isha battered the nation with heavy rain and strong winds.
What lines have reopened?
- Balloch – Airdrie
- Helensburgh Central – Edinburgh
- Edinburgh – Helensburgh Central via Bathgate and Airdrie
According to ScotRail’s website, the first train to run from Dumbarton to Glasgow on Wednesday was the 10.12am service from Dumbarton East to Glasgow Queen Street.
However, the next service heading towards Glasgow won’t depart until 1.19pm.
Meanwhile, the first train from Dumbarton Central to Balloch will leave at 2.21pm.
At present ScotRail's website shows various cancellations on these routes throughout the day.
Rail bosses are therefore urging customers to check before they travel as some disruption is still likely on lines that have reopened.
