An APPEAL has been launched for information after a cat was found giving birth in a crisp box in Alexandria.
The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after the white and grey female cat was found in a box in a street in Alexandria.
A member of the public found the cat in a crisp box in the Tullychewan area on Monday March, 11, and took her to one of the charity’s animal rescue and rehoming centres.
Scottish SPCA centre manager, Nikki Morrison, said: “The white and grey female cat was found giving birth on Monday and was extremely distressed.
“She gave birth to three kittens, one of which was sadly stillborn. The cat and her remaining two kittens are receiving care and attention from our staff at one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres.
“We would urge anyone unable to care for their pets to contact our confidential animal helpline for support and advice.
“If anyone recognises this cat or has any information surrounding her circumstances, they should call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
