A man was brutally attacked by four masked thugs who forced entry into a house.

The incident took place in the Braehead area of Bonhill in West Dunbartonshire on Saturday, March 16, shortly after midnight.

During the horror ordeal, four men wearing balaclavas forced entry into a house and seriously assaulted a 38-year-old man and stole from him.

The victim was then rushed to hospital for treatment, however, he was later discharged.

Now, cops are on the hunt for the culprits.

Meanwhile, officers revealed they believe the shocking attack was 'targeted'.

Detective Constable Emma Chalk said: “Enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace the four men responsible for this attack, which we believe was targeted.

“If anyone witnessed anything that may assist our investigation, or has any information or personal footage, please contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 0211 of March 16.
