An Alexandria supermarket is set to close for nearly three months.
A banner appeared outside Aldi on Bank Street recently stating that the store will shut from 8pm on July 21 to 8am on October 24.
It is understood that this is to facilitate refurbishment work.
The banner reads: "Your Aldi store will be closed for refurbishment from 8pm, July 21.
"Our store will reopen 8am, October 24."
During this period, local residents will be redirected to the supermarket giant’s nearest locations, including units in Kilbowie Retail Park in Clydebank, Dalsetter Avenue in Drumchapel, Knightscliffe Avenue in Anniesland, and Main Street in Milngavie.
It comes after we reported in December that Aldi had revealed plans to extend two of its stores – Alexandria and Erskine – as part of a £56m investment.
An Aldi spokesperson said: "In order to provide an improved shopping experience for Alexandria customers, the Aldi store on Bank Street will close on July 21 to undergo an exciting refurbishment.
"As a result, we will be re-opening our new and improved Aldi store in October, which will also include a refreshed layout."
