A VAN has been stopped in Dumbarton for being over its weight limit.
Officers stopped the vehicle on the A82 on Friday, May 24 after it was found to exceed the maximum weight allowed.
The limit is 3500kg and the van had contents containing 4160kg.
Dumbarton road policing officers stopped the van during an early shift.
The driver was charged and reported to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS).
"Early shift Dumbarton Road Police stopped the driver of this van on the A82 Dumbarton for being overweight.
"The maximum authorised weight for the vehicle and contents is 3500kg. The vehicle was weighed at 4160 kg.
"Driver charged and reported to the COPFS."
