A DUMBARTON school has held its annual Sportathon.
Vale of Leven Academy put on the event last week, raising £1400 for the school’s Sports Council.
The Sportathon, which is open to all pupils, promotes positive health and wellbeing and offers pupils a chance to showcase their skills.
Students took part in a wide range of sports including badminton, gymnastics, football, netball, volleyball, and table tennis.
Led by senior students, the event offered invaluable leadership and organisational experience for older students whilst allowing younger children the chance to see their peers in leadership positions, providing positive role models.
Lead teacher, Gill Timney, said: "It was fantastic to see our pupils come together and enjoy the event, whilst the support from the community and the enthusiasm of our pupils made this event extra special.
"I want to thank all the young people who attended the Sportathon and for their very generous donations for the school’s Sports Council.
"This money will be used to enhance sports facilities and supporting future sporting events at Vale of Leven Academy.
