A driver has had their vehicle seized after being stopped by road cops in Dumbarton. 

Officers from Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit pulled the motorist over on Townend Road on Thursday, June 20.

Police say the driver reportedly had no insurance, no MOT, defective brakes, and tyres that were below the legal limit. 

He has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and his vehicle was seized. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Early shift stopped the driver of this vehicle on Townend Road, Dumbarton. 

"The driver was reported for driving with no insurance, no MOT, defective brakes, and tyres which were below the legal limit of 1.6mm and his vehicle was seized."
