A 'mini-festival' is set to be held in Alexandria as bands and DJs have already been confirmed.

The 'Rock for the Loch' event will include five local bands and a DJ with tickets for the event said to be selling fast.

Organiser Frank Rodger is a member of the 321 Vale Masonic Lodge who has, along with other Masonics in the area, chosen the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat as their chosen charity for the next two years.

The mega event will take place in the Masonic hall on August 24 and will have 150 tickets up for grabs.

Tickets will cost £20 and will give access to watching bands Have Mercy Las Vegas, Red Hearted Vibrations, The Sleeping Giants, Wan Samba and Lost in Translation.

The Hub music studio in Dumbarton has been supporting the event with member Kevin Matthews helping to secure the acts.

Frank used to be the cox of the rescue boat before leaving but now his son is a member of the crew.

He said: "We have had a lot of bands and a lot more wanting to be here. It’s a festival vibes type of day. I think it will sell out pretty big, there are some big names.

"It’s a great local charity and it needs a lot of funding because it gets used so much throughout the year not just by boat users but by walkers and those doing the West Highland Way.

"The boat is a really busy organisation that relies on donations."

DJ Dean Mac has also been announced and will be helping with a BBQ.

All proceeds from the day will go to the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat.
