A TENNIS tournament has been held in memory of a "hugely popular" Dumbarton man.
John Smith, who passed away in May last year aged 58, was a member of both Dumbarton and Cardross tennis clubs.
Friends recently came together at the courts in Kirktonhill to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Fiona MacDonald, Dumbarton Tennis Club secretary, said: "John was a hugely positive influence in promoting tennis to the wider community.
"Indeed, the fact that over 35 players took part was a testament to his popularity.
"After a busy round of matches, the highest scoring lady and gent from each club went head-to-head to compete for the new John Smith Trophy.
"After some fine tennis it was the Dumbarton pair of Lynne Dempster and Gerry McGinty who beat their Cardross opponents of Gwen Irving and Allan Clarke.
"We hope this will become an annual event."
In total, £195 was raised for the British Heart Foundation.
