It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Bourhill, a former beloved teacher.
Linda passed away at home on September 28 having just celebrated her 70th birthday two days prior.
She leaves behind her husband Colin, sons Colin and Kenneth and four much-loved grandchildren.

Linda had a lifelong link to education in West Dunbartonshire, being enrolled in Aitkenbar Primary School, aged 5.
She moved to Lenzie Academy for secondary school after her family relocated to Kirkintilloch.
After a spell at college, she qualified as a teacher of Economics and Business Studies, taking up her first teaching post at Vale of Leven Academy in 1976.
It was there that the then-Miss Wilson met her husband-to-be Colin, who arrived at the school in 1977 as a newly qualified Maths and Physics teacher.
Romance blossomed and they got engaged in 1979 in Paris on an Easter school trip to France with around thirty-five second-year pupils.
On the return to school, they approached the head teacher Mr Murray asking for a day off for their wedding which was finally granted on a school day, Friday, July 1, 1979, after the head was told that the honeymoon had been already been booked the following week to the Arrochar Outdoor Centre with a very active group of senior pupils for a week of canoeing.
Linda was soon promoted to principal teacher of Business Studies in Dumbarton Academy finally becoming depute head teacher.
While in Dumbarton, Linda continued her involvement in school life outside the classroom.
She managed many Young Enterprise groups and almost yearly summer activity holidays to France and Spain finally moving on to winter school ski trips to Austria and France.
It wasn’t unknown at parents’ night for someone to comment "You know I was on your honeymoon!"
Linda retired from teaching in Dumbarton in 2014.
Outside of school, Linda enjoyed golf, becoming Lady Captain at Cardross Golf Club, skiing in the winter, out on her pink boat ‘The Pink Panther’ exploring Loch Lomond and the west coast of Scotland, out and about in Colin’s 1960s Triumph sports car but most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.
