A PERVERT spent more than three years demanding lewd photos in exchange for money from his ex - then asked his young daughter to do the same.

The 35-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, threatened to tell his ex's new partner about their deal if she didn't comply, while sending hundreds of pounds for the content.

Then he demanded explicit photos of their 13-year-old girl - communications that were only discovered when her mum, the man's ex, was checking her phone.

Despite her sending images to the man, prosecutors accepted he was not guilty of possession and creation of indecent images. And he was not guilty of offering £20,000 to destroy the teenager's phone.

The man, of North Glasgow, appeared from custody on October 29 and will remain locked up while reports are prepared for his sentencing.

He has been added to the sex offenders register in the meantime.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard that the offences happened within their jurisdiction dating back to 2019.

The man had been in a relationship with the woman for a number of years and they remained in contact years after it ended.

His ex had asked for financial help for her children - and he asked if she "wanted to make a deal where she sent photographs of herself".

Fiscal depute Dana Barclay said he would instruct her what pants to wear and how to pose in them, and for photos of her breasts and bottom.

The demands were also for her to send images of touching herself.

"He would repeatedly send requests," said the prosecutor. "She did send them and would then receive money, between £150 and £600 for these photographs transferred by bank transfer from the accused's account.

"This became normal whenever she needed money."

This went on about once a week or fortnightly between October 1, 2019 and November 28, 2022.

"She didn't disclose what she was doing and was disgusted with herself," said Ms Barclay.

When the ex said she didn't want to do this anymore, she was threatened with exposure to her new partner. The man then requested video calls.

Meanwhile, in 2022, the man had been communicating with his daughter on Snapchat.

He asked her to go to the bathroom and take photographs of herself.

"It's fine, I'm not going to tell anyone, it's just between me and you," he told her.

He continued to send messages requesting images of her breasts and bottom. He asked questions such as "what size of bra are you?"

He asked every evening for a week before she sent two photos.

"Oh I want to see these when I get home," he replied.

He offered £20 via a gaming app. And he continued to ask questions such as what she was wearing.

The girl later told a friend she was scared he would tell her mother.

And the mum became aware when going through the daughter's phone for an unrelated reason.

The first offender pleaded guilty to repeatedly instructing his ex to take sexual images of herself between October 1, 2019 and November 28, 2022.

He also pleaded guilty to, between June 4 and October 13, 2022, sending sexual communications to the 13-year-old girl. This was for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification or of humiliating, distressing or alarming the child.

He sent messages of a lewd and indecent nature and repeatedly asked her to take sexual images of herself and send them to him in exchange for money.

The Crown accepted not guilty pleas to taking or permitting to be taken or making indecent photos of a child in 2022, and to having possession of indecent photos.

They also accepted that he didn't offer his ex £20,000 to dispose of the mobile phone belonging to the 13-year-old girl and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The victims lived within the area covered by Dumbarton Sheriff Court and the man was charged relating to addresses in North Glasgow, Rutherglen, and elsewhere.

Defence solicitor Scott Adair said his client "appreciates how serious matters are".

He added: "The offences are now of some vintage."

Sheriff Frances McCartney deferred sentence until November 26 for reports. Bail was refused.
