Train services are facing delays and cancellations following a police incident which is affecting services.

The line between Helensburgh Central and Edinburgh has been facing disruption after a person died after being hit by a train.

British Transport Police officers were called to the tracks near Blairhill station in Coatbridge at around 8.10am on Tuesday, November 12.

The force says they were alerted to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

The tragic incident has since affected train services running through Dumbarton stations.

The 10.25am, 10.55am and the 11.25am Helensburgh Central to Edinburgh have been cancelled.

The 9.10am Edinburgh to Helensburgh Central due in at 11.13 will be terminated at Bathgate.

The 9.39am train from Edinburgh to Helensburgh Central due in at 11.45 has also been cancelled.

The Balloch to Airdrie line is also facing distruption.

The 10:38 Balloch to Airdrie service will be terminated at Anniesland.

The 11.08am Balloch to Airdrie due 12.27pm will be terminated at Anniesland.
