West Scotland MSP announces winner of Christmas card competition

It is the fourth year that Pam Gosal MSP has run the event.

She received hundreds of entries and deciding on the winner and runners-up was incredibly difficult given the exceptionally high quality of all the entries.

Among the runners-up were three students from West Dunbartonshire: Lotti from St. Kessog’s Primary School, Elise from Gavinburn Primary School, and Rebecca from Our Lady of Loretto Primary School.

Their designs will feature on the back of the Christmas card.

On Monday, December 2, the Scottish Conservative and Unionist politician visited the winning and running-up schools and met the talented children who were featured on the cards to award them their prizes.

The card featuring the students’ designs will be sent to a number of residents, businesses and other stakeholders across West Scotland. It will also be sent to King Charles, Queen Camilla, MSPs, MPs and officials.

Pam Gosal, West Scotland MSP, said, “I would like to thank all the students across West Scotland who sent in their Christmas card designs. There were so many good entries and it was very difficult to choose a winner.

“I would like to congratulate Lotti from St. Kessog’s Primary School, Elise from Gavinburn Primary School, and Rebecca from Our Lady of Loretto Primary School for being runners-up and getting their designs featured on the cards.

“I have visited all the schools with students’ designs featuring on the card and it was lovely to meet the students, their parents, and give the winners and runners up their prizes.

“The card featuring all five designs will be sent out to residents and businesses across West Scotland as well as to the Royal Family and MPs and MSPs.

"I am very excited for everyone to see all the fantastic designs.”

The winning student was Jessica from Bearsden Primary School and Westerton Primary School student Leia was the final runner-up.
