WEST Dunbartonshire Council has agreed a provisional date for the reopening of local recycling centres.
The COVID-19 pandemic closed the centres found throughout West Dunbartonshire, which lead to an increase in flytipping.
However, the Reporter can confirm that recycling will reopen from June 1, with Councillor Jonathan McColl stating in his column this week: “Agreement was reached between all 32 councils on Friday last week to start reopening our municipal waste and recycling centres from June 1.”
A spokesperson from West Dunbartonshire Council said: “Scottish councils, including West Dunbartonshire, have agreed a provisional date for the reopening of recycling centres. This will of course be subject to Government advice on travel and an assurance it will not negatively impact on Covid-19 infection rates.”
WDC also state that local plans are being developed which will continue to adhere to national guidance and once finalised, details will be shared with communities.
