WITH only days to go before thousands of people descend on the streets of Edinburgh for Pride 2024, there may be a few things you want to know before it begins.
The event has been dubbed the longest-running free celebration of the LGBT community in Scotland, starting all the way back in 1994.
Now in its 30th year, the event is well known for its huge march and fun festival.

Pride 2024 in Edinburgh will take place on Saturday, June 22 from around 1pm.
When will the Edinburgh Pride Festival take place?
The Festival in Bristo Square will take place after the march through central Edinburgh, occurring between the hours of 2pm and 6pm.
Who will be performing at the Edinburgh Pride Festival?
The full list of acts for the Main Stage at The Festival includes the following:

- Amelia Lily
- Kitty Scott-Claus
- Ellie Diamond
- Savanna Darnell
- Tina Justina
The Festival will be hosted by Scottish drag "powerhouse" Blaze.
What is the route for the Pride march in Edinburgh?
Those attending the march have been asked to gather at the Scottish Parliament at around 12:30pm. The march will then set off from Holyrood at around 1pm.
It will travel along Canongate, High Street and Lawnmarket before moving south down National Cycle Route 75, Lothian Street and Potterrow. The route will then finish at Charles Street.

Here are all the road closures that will be in place across the city for Pride 2024, according to the Edinburgh City Council roadworks & events report (effective from June 14).
11.30am - 3pm
- Horse Wynd
12.30pm - 3.30pm
- Royal Mile
- George IV Bridge (southbound)
- Bristo Place, Potterrow
- Chapel Street
- George Square north leg
Edinburgh Pride 2024 will take place on Saturday, June 22 and set off from Holyrood at around 1pm.
